Helen June Riley

In memory of our beloved Mom, Helen June Riley, daughter of Lewis and Linnie Fisher, was born in Burley, ID, June 5 1935. Her parents and siblings all preceded her in death, Barbara and Elaine (identical twins), Marshall, Richard, and Barry. Mom’s family relocated to Santa Rosa, CA where Mom called home. She married Buddy Riley of Newport, AR and they had 5 children whom she loved with all her heart; Robert, Alisa, Raymond, Diedra, and Shayne. Our dad was in the Air Force and they traveled from Santa Rosa to Texas, Florida, South Carolina, Kansas, Puerto Rico, Ohio and Arkansas until his retirement. Dad preceded her in death April 7, 1983 at the early age of 50. Mom worked various jobs until she became an LPN in Newport, AR and worked at GPW nursing home. She then got her RN Diploma and relocated to Sherwood, AR to be near family. She traveled a lot, spending time with her 5 children, whom she cherished. Her nursing career was spent primarily in the Mother/Baby unit which allowed her to work where her children lived; Anderson AFB, Guam, Anchorage, AK, Vacaville, CA and Richmond, VA to name a few of her career moves. Mom (Grandma, Grammy, Grams) loved and was loved by her grandchildren; Jonathan (tragically preceded her in death at the age of 16), Brenton, Jason, Jared, Ethan, Christopher Buddy, Stacey, Ryan, Logan; also Mitzi and Rhett as well Avery and Shawna. Grandma/Granny Helen also loved her great grandchildren; Alison Valentine, Elora, Dean, Ayden, Keaton, Beckett, Keira, Keaton, Devin, Leah and Judah, who loved her. Mom loved Garth Brooks and his music. She especially loved to travel. She lived and/ or traveled many places to be with her kids/grands, e.g. Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Alaska, Virginia, California, Illinois, Texas, North Dakato, West Virginia, Ohio, Equador, Mexico, Indonesia, England, France, Sulawesi, Ireland and Scotland. She worked as an RN in USAF hospitals in her RN career. Our mom was strong willed and not a pushover, to the day she departed this earth! On Jan 16 2023 at 87 years young, she left this life to rest in peace, with family by her side. She will be eternally missed by us all.
