Leonard Wayne Knox

Leonard Wayne Knox Leonard “Wayne” Knox passed away in his home peacefully surrounded by his immediate family members on October 22, 2014 at the age of 76 years old. Wayne was born on August 10, 1938 at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas to Josephine and Leonard Knox. He and his wife moved to Temple, TX in 1975. He leaves the love of his life, Cecilia “Sue” Porterfield after being married for 48 years; His son Stephen “Kyle” Knox and his wife Christina and their two children Cassidy and Connor; His son Darren Scott Knox and his three children Dylan, Jillian, and Syrene; His sister Josephine “Evelyn” Seybold and brother in law Royce Seybold in El Paso, TX; and his niece Evelyn “Peanut” Seybold in El Paso, TX. Wayne graduated from Austin High School in El Paso, TX in 1957. He was enrolled in the University Texas El Paso from 1958-1961. During this time, he worked full time, attended college, and traveled with the Professional Bowling Association to bowl in tournaments. He returned to his college studies at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in 1976. In 1978, he graduated the University Of Mary Hardin Baylor with a psychology degree. Wayne joined the Air Force in 1963 where he trained to be an X-ray technician. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1967 as a Staff Sergeant. He then pursued a career as an X-ray Technician at Providence Hospital, Temple Veteran’s Administration, and then the Veteran’s Administration in Marlin, Texas. From 1978-1992, he served as a supervisor at Texas Instruments. Wayne retired in 2003. Wayne left the Professional Bowling Association Ranks in 2013. Wayne Knox had many passions in his life. He was an avid bowler who was a member of the Professional Bowling Association from 1960-2013. Wayne was proud of his accomplishment as a member of the Professional Bowling Association he bowled four “300” games. Wayne enjoyed gardening, cooking, photography, jewelry making from gems and minerals, and astronomy. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church 2407 West Avenue P Temple, TX at a later date. Afterwards, he will be laid to rest in Cleburne, TX with many other family members.
