Linda L. Pond

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda L. Pond, (85) of Hutto, Texas peacefully passed away on April 3, 2025, with her daughter Jennifer, nephew Stephen, and grandcat Jazz at her side. Linda was born on August 7, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio to Carlton and Grace Kerr. Linda was preceded in death by husband Conrad Pond; parents Carlton and Grace Kerr, in-laws Eugene and Josphine Pond, sister-in-law Carolyn Kerr, and dogs Baron and Co-Co. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Jennifer Pond, grandcat Jazz, brother James Kerr, sister and brother-in-law Marianne and Jim England, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Phillip and Gail Pond, cousin Paul Condit, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was a beautiful woman inside and out and loved her family and friends. She had so many great memories being a Majorette in high school. A proud graduate of North Texas University, where she became a member of the Chi Omega Sorority and met her husband, Conrad. She was a loving and devoted wife for over 50 years. They loved to travel the world, and Maui was one of her favorite places. Linda was an English and Drama teacher and loved the art of words and how they could inspire people. She always saw the beauty in nature and she adored the flowers in Spring. Linda was a spectacular Mother; she taught her daughter the beauty of world, the joy of the beach, and that reading could create new worlds. She made rainy days fun, and instilled the faith that even through the challenging times, a Mom is always there, and her love knows no bounds. Lifelong friends, Sheron Mitchell and Marilyn Boatright shared many adventures during their years of friendship. Together they were the Tres Amigas. They were there for each other through all the ups and downs in life. They traveled together and created so many cherished memories. They knew the secret; life is too short and you have to make time to enjoy friendship and life. There will be a small family gathering in the near future to honor Linda’s life. We would love to hear your stories and memories to celebrate Linda. In lieu of flowers you may make donations to any Hospice facility. Hospice was truly a blessing to our family and helped Mom pass peacefully.
