Pedro Pablo Tarquino

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 Reverend Pedro Pablo Tarquino Manzanares met his Lord and Savior on September 30, 2021, after battling cancer for seven years. He was passionate about studying the scriptures and will be remembered as a loving father and husband. Pedro was born on June 29, 1952, in Facatativa, Colombia. Having a gift for numbers, in his early years he earned a Civil Engineering degree. However, he was soon called to ministry, and the rest of his life he served as a Pastor. With his wife Cecilia, they would come to the USA and study at the Reformed Theological Seminary, where Pedro would earn a PhD in Intercultural Studies. Together they had three children: Alejandra, Pablo, and Jonathan. He was extremely proud to have met his first grandson: Nathaniel. He is also survived by his mother, Maria, and seven siblings: Daniel, Juan, Jael, Ester, David, Ezequiel and Elias. His lifelong dream was to restore some of the brokenness of his home country by giving the most under-privileged children of Colombia the highest quality education. To his last days he worked on this project which he named “Fundacion Educar para una Nueva Sociedad (FENS).” Pedro will be honored on Saturday, October 23 at 12:00 pm CST at Redeemer Presbyterian Church and the funeral will take place at 2:00pm CST. ----------------------------------------- "He peleado la buena batalla, he acabado la carrera, he guardado la fe." 2 Timoteo 4:7 El reverendo Pedro Pablo Tarquino Manzanares conoció a su Señor y Salvador el 30 de septiembre de 2021, después de luchar contra el cáncer durante siete años. Le apasionaba estudiar las Escrituras y será recordado como un padre y esposo amoroso. Pedro nació el 29 de junio de 1952 en Facatativá, Colombia. Teniendo un don para los números, en sus primeros años obtuvo un título en Ingeniería Civil. Sin embargo, pronto fue llamado al ministerio y el resto de su vida sirvió como pastor. Con su esposa Cecilia, vendrían a los Estados Unidos y estudiarían en "Reformed Theological Seminary", donde Pedro obtendría un doctorado en Estudios Interculturales. Juntos tuvieron tres hijos: Alejandra, Pablo y Jonathan. Estaba extremadamente orgulloso de haber conocido a su primer nieto: Nathaniel. También le sobreviven su madre, María, y siete hermanos: Daniel, Juan, Jael, Ester, David, Ezequiel y Elías. El sueño de toda su vida fue restaurar parte del quebrantamiento de su patria dando a los niños más desfavorecidos de Colombia una educación de la más alta calidad. Hasta sus últimos días trabajó en este proyecto al que denominó “Fundación Educar para una Nueva Sociedad (FENS)”. Pedro será homenajeado el sabado 23 de octubre a las 12:00pm CST y el funeral tendrá lugar a las 2:00pm CST.
