Rebecca Ann Leonard

Rebecca Ann Leonard (née Estes), a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, surrounded by family. She was 68 years old. Born in Gainesville, Texas, on February 2, 1957, Rebecca was the daughter of Robert Neal Estes and Mary Elizabeth Estes. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, including her four siblings: Lori, Cindy, Michael, and Jon. The bond shared between Rebecca and her siblings remained a central part of her life, and they fondly recall her kind heart and unwavering support. Rebecca's life was defined by her deep commitment to her family and her dedicated service to her community. After earning her degree, she worked for the state of Texas in various capacities, including with the University of North Texas in the Education Department and the Texas Department of Corrections. Her career reflected her passion for helping others, and she was respected by all who worked with her for her professionalism and work ethic. She is survived by her two sons, David Leonard and his wife Jennifer, and Matthew Leonard and his wife Julie. She was a proud grandmother to her beloved grandchildren, Kendall and Addison, who brought her endless joy. Rebecca cherished her role as a mother and Nano, and her legacy of love, wisdom, and faith in God will live on through them. Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Leonard, who passed away in 2023, and her parents. Her loss is deeply felt by her family, friends, and colleagues, who will remember her for her warmth, generosity, and the deep love she gave to everyone she knew. In addition to her family, Rebecca leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom were touched by her kindness and compassion. She will be missed more than words can express, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. A private family service will be held to honor Rebecca’s life. Rebecca's life was a testament to the power of love and service. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her. Rest in peace, Rebecca. You will never be forgotten.
