Timothy Gonzales

On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, Timothy (Tim) Gonzales, Sr., began his heavenly journey. He was 54 years of age and a lifelong resident of Temple, TX. He was the youngest of five siblings and was born in Taylor, TX to Lucinda and John Gonzales on February 4, 1970. He grew up as a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple, TX. He attended St. Mary’s School through 8th grade and then Temple High School where he was an avid soccer player. He attended Temple College and Online Business Management Training with Kennedy-Western University. He obtained a Certificate in CADD (Computer Aided Drafting and Design). He was very handy with maintenance and repairs and often took on DIY projects. He worked in many capacities from remodeling homes to merchandising, buying and inventory control, the latest being with Jessup Housing in Waco, TX. He continued his love for soccer by coaching 10 seasons for the local Temple Youth Soccer program. Tim had many talents but was best known for his artistic abilities, even briefly designing tattoos. He was a very hard worker, but in his spare time he also enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing washers, grilling, and playing a good card game of Thirty-One against his family and friends (winning most games and often changing the rules in the middle of a game). He was preceded in death by his mother Lucinda (Rodriguez) Gonzales of Temple. He is survived by his loving wife Jess of Temple; his son TJ of Temple; his daughter Brooke (Tyler) Basham of Houston; his step-children, Makenna, Gregory Jr, and Phillip Holland of Temple; his father John Gonzales of Temple; his sister Betty (Cino) Moreno of Temple; his brother John (Barbara) Gonzales of Salado; his sister Libby (Dave) Dillon of Little River-Academy; his brother Fredrick Gonzales of Temple; seven nieces and nephews, four great-nieces, and one great-nephew; Gonzales and Rodriguez aunts, uncles, and cousins; and of course his fur baby Rory who visited him several times in the hospital. Memorial Services will include visitation with family on Monday, April 22, beginning at 6 p.m. with the Divine Mercy being recited at 7 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Family Center in Temple, TX. The Memorial Mass will be on Tuesday, April 23, at 3 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple, TX. A fellowship dinner at the OLG Family Center will immediately follow the mass.
