Tori Lyn Warehime

Tori Lyn Warehime, 65, passed away on June 23rd, 2026 surrounded by her children and the staff of the Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas. She was born on April 5th, 1961 in Clinton, Iowa, to Mary Lou Bloomer and Arnold “Arnie” Jay Ven Kampen. While she did not graduate from high school, she was a self-taught DIYer who worked for herself as a window washer, painter, home and business renovator, and gardener. She also worked maintenance for the Regal Gateway movie theater in Austin, TX and assisted in its renovation to an IMAX theater as well as a brief stint as a security officer. She was proud of the work she was able to accomplish and loved to point out buildings she had worked on such as a church in Round Rock, TX, a new apartment complex she completed the final cleaning for in Iowa, and, of course, the movie theater she helped renovate. In her youth, she expressed herself through a love of dancing and loved to hang out with her friends. Art and music were a major part of her life which she said she got from her mother, in spite of their complicated relationship, and her grandmother. She expressed herself through her art- be it through sketches, painted murals in her children’s room, crotchet, needlework, knitting, gardening, and music. She collected heart shaped rocks, angels, seashells, bibles, and ducks, and she held onto every old photograph, letter, and piece of jewelry she could no matter how broken or faded. Tori is survived by her children Aaron, Emilee, and Anna-Leesa, her sisters Kim and Cindy, her grandchildren Willow, Lily, Sean, and Maximilian, and her German Shepherd Arrow. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Bloomer, her father Arnie Van Kampen, and her son Sean Julian Warehime. At this time, the family has decided not hold a traditional funeral ceremony, and, instead, believe that Tori’s life would be best honored by celebrating or reflecting in whatever way makes the most sense to the individuals who remember her- whether that means planting something, drawing something, going on a drive to nowhere in particular while listening to music, etc. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations made to any local animal shelters and rescues. The family would also appreciate anyone who is able to provide a forever home for her sweet dog Arrow.
