October 24, 1930 - February 17, 2009
After 78 years of a life well lived, Betty Louise Chesbro went to be with her Lord on Tuesday evening, February 17th, 2009, in Austin, TX. She was born on October 24th, 1930 in Oregon City, Oregon. Betty?s character of a women, sister, mother, aunt, daughter, grandmother, and friend cannot be measured. She had a shining face that would light up any room. She was a very nurturing, thoughtful, and giving person and she would do anything she could to help others. Betty lived all over the world, growing up in Baxter Springs, Kansas, and later living in Missouri on the same land as her parents. She loved living in Taiwan and Tulsa, Oklahoma, and she moved to Austin four years ago. Betty had friends that she loved all over the world. It is a blessing to those that knew her and we all thought she was a very special lady. Betty loved life and she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all of her many friends. Betty was always very active and faithful in her church no matter where she lived. She loved going to Church at St. David?s Episcopal where she had many friends, and she was the volunteer coordinator at Next to New, her churches? resale shop. She loved working there and enjoyed volunteering and helping customers. A donation can be made to Next to New in her memory where a tile will be purchased and on display at the shop. Betty had many hobbies, such as cooking, reading, baking, flower arranging, gardening, collecting clowns and turquoise jewelry, and entertaining her family and friends. Betty is survived by her two daughters, Barbara and husband Tim Cottam, of Angel Fire, New Mexico, and Cheryl and husband Tony Tarochione, of Austin, Texas. She had 5 grandchildren William, Tucker, and Taylor Cottam, Todd Tarochione, and Angela Nungaray. She had 5 great grandchildren, Lauren Cottam, Alayna and Tyler Tarochione, and Bella and Brady Nungaray. She also had one surviving sister Patty White of Marionville, Missouri. And many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends that she loved very, very much. Betty is preceded in death by Charles Chesbro, her parents Guy and Iona Talbot, and her sister, Doris Jean Becker. There will be a memorial Service for Betty sometime in March, the date is still pending. Services will be held at St. David?s Episcopal Church 304 East 7th Street, Austin TX.
