Doris Anne Hembree Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Doris Hembree passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, September 10, 2019 after battling cancer for this past year. She leaves behind her older sister, Viola VanWorth of Hugo, OK and her brother Don French, her three children and three grandchildren, Terrie Hembree of Austin, TX., her children, Samantha Blackman and Terry Blackman, also of Austin, TX.; Johnny Hembree of Dallas, TX.; Jimmy Hembree of Grand Prairie, TX. and his son Jared Patrick Warren of Arlington, TX., and her best friend, Sherry Brown of Mansfield, TX. She started her career as a constable and ended her career as a Deputy Sheriff and investigator in Tarrant County, Texas and sang on many stages under the name of Satin and Lace. She loved to do woodworking and completing the various renovations on her home on her own, then later with help. She also knew a lot about vehicles and how to do some of the repairs on her own. She was as stubborn during death as she was in life. She waited to pass until after the premiere of a renovation show on HGTV which she had been looking forward to all month long. During her last week fighting cancer, she dreamed of traveling the world with various people in the renovation and house hunting shows, seeing beautiful houses and places and having so much fun. She will be missed by those she leaves behind. After her cremation, her urn will be buried in Wynnewood, OK. between the graves of her father and mother at a later date yet to be determined.
