Guadalupe Guajardo Falcon

September 30, 1942 - December 22, 2018

Guadalupe G Falcon Sept 30, 1942 – Dec 22, 2018 Lupita or just Lupe to friends & family passed away Saturday Dec 22nd right about the time Austin was experiencing one of the best sunsets in recent memory. Her husband of 56 years was at her bedside. Born in Austin to Eloy Joe & Soledad Guardiola Guajardo, successful entrepreneurs in the Guadalupe neighborhood. She was educated at Our Lady of Guadalupe school. Palm School & St. Mary’s Academy. She also attended Nixon Clay College. Married in Sept1962, she would eventually dedicate herself to raising 3 sons. Name the activity and she was there, scouting, PTA or supporting countless youth sport teams around the Travis Heights neighborhood. All the while working side by side with her husband in building a better future for their kids. It does not go unnoticed that we celebrate her life during Christmas. This was her favorite time of year. Her love of handmade crafts would culminate in another of her famed themed decorated Christmas trees. The Falcon home is where she would also play host extraordinaire for a party that was attended by a true who’s who of Austin as guest throughout the night of Christmas Eve. Again Lupe loved to cook & mix some real adult beverages. The door was always open to friends and many of her adopted son’s and daughters, if you knew her children the Falcon home was always a welcome place for you. From her rum cakes, homemade enchiladas to her Thanksgiving Day meal left prepared for many of the Police officers, Funeral Directors and Medical Examiners staff who could sneak by at a moments notice to enjoy turkey and her famous cornbread dressing and then get back to work she enjoyed preparing many of the recipes herself. Lupita was always interested in keeping up with her family and her “many” adopted kids. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mary Diaz & Esperanza (Hopie) Guajardo. She is survived by husband Juan (Sonny) Falcon, Sons, John & wife Mimi Curry, Robert and his wife Lorie, Jose & wife Sheila. 9 Grandchildren and 2 Great Granddaughters.
