James David Needham

James Needham, (Jim), age 81, passed away December 2, 2020 in Round Rock, Texas. He was born March 1, 1939 in Greendale, Wisconsin to Alfred Earl Needham and Elinor Pearl Needham. Jim was the third of nine children, eight sons and the youngest, a daughter. The Needham family moved and settled in the Texas Panhandle. After leaving high school, Jim joined the Navy and served for 4 years on the USS Amphion (AR-13). Jim’s professional endeavors included working as a police officer for the Amarillo police department, flight instructor in Lubbock, TX and real estate in San Antonio, TX. Jim enjoyed traveling and motivational speaking. He was a great teacher and loved helping others to make improvements in their lives with positive imagery and self-guidance. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Jim is preceded in death by his wife Helen Frances and eldest brother John Patrick Needham. He is survived by his daughters Donna Fulton and husband J, Cindy Mapes and husband Eric, and Katherine Jennings; step-sons include Eddie Hartung, Glenn Hartung, Robert Hartung and step-daughters Danielle McDole and Janine Masamillo; and grandchildren Ryan Fulton, Kendyl and Parker Mapes, and Elizabeth and Matthew Jennings. Also, six brothers Tom Needham, Robert Needham, Daniel Needham, Bill Needham, Richard Needham, Dave Needham, and Mary Ellen Solliday; and several nieces and nephews. A remembrance service is tentatively scheduled for Saturday April 10 in Amarillo, Texas at Napoli’s.
