Paul Castilleja Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Paul Castilleja,78, of Waco, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 14, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX., on June 9th at 2:00 p.m., a reception will follow. Paul was born August 4, 1943, in Calvert, Texas to Alfonso and Isabel Castilleja and was one of nine children. After graduating from Calvert High School, he served in the United States Army, where he fought in the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge in 1967 Paul moved to Waco, Texas where he called home. Paul worked for O’Grady Container then Englander Container, where he made many friends. Enjoying life, he loved playing softball, watching the Dallas Cowboys or the Texas Rangers, or working on his cars. But most of all, Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren, whom he loved and adored. Paul touched many lives and will be missed dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents; his infant children Gina Lynn and Paul Castilleja, Jr.; sisters, Gloria Gonzales and Emma Vigil; and brothers, Henry Castilleja and Alfonso Castilleja, Jr. Those left behind to cherish Paul’s memory are his wife Aracely Castilleja; daughters, Helen Castilleja Granado, Paula Amaro and husband Silver, Sally Patena and husband Clem, Maribel Rendon and husband Jason; sons, Paul G. Castilleja and wife Brianna, Mark A. Castilleja and wife Cynthia, Pablo Talamantez and wife Maranda, James Talamantez, and Roy Talamantez; sisters, Isabel (Twinkie) Perez, Juanita (Janie) Ramirez, and Martina Castilleja; brothers, Robert Castilleja and wife Maria, Rudy Castilleja and wife Rose, Joe Castilleja and wife Mary; and sisters-in-law Martha Castilleja and Rebecca Castilleja. Paul is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
