November 14, 1952 - July 14, 2017
On July 14, 2017, the San Antonio Spurs lost their biggest fan and his siblings lost our youngest brother, Robert “Bo” James Gorham. A devoted son, beloved brother, favorite uncle and friend to everyone he met, Robert will be sorely missed. The youngest son of Luisa (nee Cadena) and William Edward Gorham, Robert was born on November 14, 1952 in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he primarily lived and worked until the passing of his mother in 2003, for who he had lovingly cared. After moving to Austin, Robert flourished and created a whole new set of friends, acquaintances, and co-workers. He thoroughly enjoyed his job at Crossmark, where he was a Retail Reset Merchandiser. Family was always very important to Robert, and he kept in close contact with his remaining siblings; Sylvia Jackson of Corpus Christi, Ida Gutierrez of Mount Vernon, David Gorham of Houston, Diana Gorham and Catherine Gorham of Austin. “Tío Bobby” will always be remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews as an avid Baseball Card collector who was generous, hilarious and loving. Aside from being an avid sports fan of specifically Texas teams, he was a great cook and baker, and former volunteer of the YWCA Greater Austin. A memorial service will be held at La Peña Cultural Arts Center, 227 Congress Avenue (78701) on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 PM. He will be interred with his older brother and namesake, Robert James Gorham, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas. Date to be determined.
