Robert Nolan Havens

Robert Havens lost his courageous one year battle with cancer on Sunday, May 25, 2014, after an unsuccessful stem cell transplant. He leaves behind Jamie, his wife and best friend of almost 38 years, and three children; daughter Shelley Golden and husband Keith; son Robert Thomas Havens and wife Kristi; and daughter Patricia Diane Havens Marascio. He is also survived by two sisters, Alice Quintana Frey and husband Duane; and Mary McSorley and husband Charles. He has five surviving grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two nieces, and one nephew. He is predeceased by both parents, Nolan and Catherine Havens; a grandchild, Matthew Golden; and a nephew, Devin McSorley. Robert was born in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1940. He devoted his life to serving our Country as a military member in the United States Air Force and then continued with a 27 year career with the U. S. Department of Justice. After living in numerous areas of the country because of his career, he retired and moved back to Texas where he enjoyed many years of happiness surrounded by his beloved animals. He was a hero to many and will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name to the American Cancer Society or any chosen animal rescue group would be greatly appreciated. A memorial service will be held on June 28, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at the Lost Oak Winery, 2116 FM 731, Burleson, TX 76028.
