Sarah A. Hernandez Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Sarah (Almogabar) Hernandez, 85, loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022.at Cypress Healthcare & Rehabilitation in San Marcos, Texas. She was born on February 7th, 1937 in Houston, Texas the daughter of Virgilio and Dolores (Sanchez) Almogabar. Sarah graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1958 in Houston, Texas. While attending church, she met her husband Tomas Guzman Hernandez and they settled in Greenville, S.C. They celebrated 45 years of marriage on March 22nd, 2015. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her sisters, Vivian Clawson and Eloise Koehler, her husband, Tomas Hernandez, her daughter, Karena Hernandez, her grandsons, Philip Ortiz and Zen Luke Alba. Surviving is her sisters, Ruth Polston and spouse Royce Polston, Linda Ray and spouse Michael Ray and Judy Delaney, her brothers, Virgil Almogabar Jr. and spouse Margaret Almogabar, Richard Almogabar and spouse Kathy Almogabar and Joe Almogabar and spouse Joy Haubert, her daughters, Liza Ortiz and Narda Alba and spouse Carlos Alba, her son, Thomas Hernandez and spouse Denise Hernandez, 11 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A viewing and service will be held at King Tears Mortuary at 1300 E. 12th Street, Austin, Texas from 5-8 pm on Monday, May 23rd, 2022. A reception will follow.
