October 10, 1936 - May 21, 2021
Fisherman, reader of good books, Dallas Cowboy fan, lover of dogs, Hawaii enthusiast, and native Texan Wayne Ramsey passed away on May 27th, 2021, at the age of 84 after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed at his home with his daughters Jan and Kris at his side. Together the three of them spent the last seven weeks of his life together as a family until the very end. Wayne was born in 1936 in Dennison, Texas to Emma Elizabeth Ramsey and Clarence Morton Ramsey. His brother and sister both preceded him; Ed Ramsey and Patsy Ramsey Conrath. He proudly served in the United States Military in the US Army Security Agency in both Korea and Cambodia. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Houston. He proudly worked for the IBM Corporation from 1967 to 1998. Wayne was a sports fan and loved to support the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Texas Rangers and high school football. He was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed good coffee. His time with his coffee group was always the perfect start to a good day. He also loved making long trips to Nebraska to visit his beloved girlfriend Patricia Cummings and when the snow was too much they would go to Maui for weeks on end. Wayne is survived by his daughters Jan and Kris. Jan is married to Marvin Skinner, and they have two daughters, Megan and Haley. Megan is married to Payton Faseler, and they have a newborn son with the proud name of Jaxon Ramsey. Haley is married to Ty Damron. His other daughter Kris is married to Kirk Eaton. They have two daughters Katelyn and Karlee. Wayne’s oldest daughter Cyndi preceded him after her own brave battle with cancer, but she is survived by her family of Mike Serrano, daughter Adrienne her kids Alyssa, Hannah, and Tyler; son Michael Ryan and his kids Lincoln, Lennox, and Liberty; youngest daughter Allyson and her kids Aiden and Alex. He was also preceded in death by his children’s mother Joyce. Together Wayne and Joyce put together this group of kids that they were very proud of, and their families were always a great source of pride as well. Wayne would also want to mention his beloved pups Afro, Mojo Shemp, and Zeke. Per Wayne’s wishes he did not want a formal service and the family will honor him privately with their own ceremony in Maui and carry on the love they shared together.
