Antonio Chavez Jr.

Our beloved Antonio “Tony” Chavez Jr was born to Antonio and Minerva Chavez on August 4, 1981. Tony was born and raised in Austin, TX and was very proud of where he lived. For those of you who had the pleasure to cross paths with him would say he was the life of the party. Tony had a witty sense of humor, he was always cracking jokes, making you laugh and was full of life. There was never a dull moment in his presence. Tony had such a huge heart. He was always willing to give you a helping hand in anything you needed. If he had it then you had it. Tony had nothing but pure love for his family and friends. He enjoyed jamming to his music while having a good BBQ cookout and spending time with his family, his kids and friends. He loved getting his hands dirty working on cars with his dad and showing his sons how to fix a thing or two and his memory will live on. Tony you were loved by everyone around you and your presence will be missed tremendously. You have left a hole in us but we promise to fill it with nothing less than love and laughter because we know you wouldn’t have it any other way. Everyone around you will continue to share your stories of your goofy moments, your childhood memories in the neighborhood, your mischievousness and I’m sure every story will end with us laughing. Tony is preceded in death by his grandparents Felipe and Genoveva Chavez, his grandmother Jackie Perez, his uncle Phillip, uncle Joe, uncle Victor, aunt Mary and his cousins Hector, Michael and Dario. Tony is survived by his grandfather Mario Perez; his parents Antonio and Minerva Chavez Sr; his brother Joe Adam Chavez; his sister Michelle Gonzales and brother in law Rudy Gonzales; his partner Amanda Cain and his children, Antonio “Tone” Chavez, III, Marcus Fuentes (and children), Ariana Fuentes (and children) and Alyssa Fuentes. He is also survived by his nephews, Jose, Brandon, Dominic and Rudy III as well as several, aunts, uncles, lots and lots of cousins and a lifetime of friends who are actually family. A memorial service will be held on June 29th at King Tears Mortuary located at 1300 E 12th Street, Austin, TX. The viewing is from 5pm – 8pm and the Rosary will be lead by Ruben Perez promptly at 7pm. A mass will be held the next morning at San Jose Catholic Church beginning at 11am and the interment will proceed to Assumption Cemetery. We will have a celebration in honor of Tony back at the Church hall immediately after all services have ended from 1-5pm. “Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts, you will be greatly missed”
