D'Ann Michelle Lewis

D’Ann Michelle Lewis passed away on August 21, 2026, in Temple, Texas, surrounded by her favorite people, at the age of 56. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, loving wife, and faithful daughter. She was someone whose generous heart was always open to helping others. D’Ann was born on May 9, 1970, in Sherman, Texas, the second child of Judith and David Montgomery. Her childhood took her through several Texas communities, including Dallas, Fort Worth, and Irving, with a period spent in Idaho. Independent from the start, fun-loving, and never short on personality, D’Ann loved her Easy-Bake Oven, hated bugs, and was always a daddy’s girl. She found an early love in roller skating, beginning speed skating in sixth grade and continuing to skate throughout her life. At Skatin’ Place in Irving, she skate-danced, and won several competitions and trophies. The friends she made at the skating rink and throughout her school years continued on to be some of her best friends today. D’Ann was most proud of being a mother. Her firstborn son, Tyler, was born in 1991 and was the light of her life. Her second son, Hunter, was born in 1993, and raising the two of them brought her immeasurable joy. Her youngest son, Justin, completed the family and became her best friend in 2001. She loved watching the boys swim with the Shady Hollow Sting Rays and treasured the long summer days of practices and swim meets. Tino and D’Ann actually went to high school together but never spoke. Years later, at a friend's house, Tino was watching TV when D’Ann showed up at the door. He let her in and kept watching TV without saying a word. Later that day, he asked to borrow $10 for gas. She said yes and from that day on, they were inseparable. They’ve been together for more than 25 years. D’Ann loved dogs, saving multiple dogs throughout her life, training them and spoiling them rotten. She loved the holidays and was famous at our home for always burning the marshmallows on the Thanksgiving yams. To relax, she found joy in coloring. She also loved relaxing in pools and hot tubs. Many will remember the summers spent in her backyard in the pool. She was happiest listening to music, hanging with family and talking to her friends. She will forever be famous for her “Mexican Cornbread,” blue butterfly tattoo, and her love for a good vacuum. She was an extremely caring person who wanted to make sure those around her had what they needed, often sacrificing her own well-being to care for those she loved. Anyone who knew her knew she would drop everything to help, whether they asked for it or not. A deeply spiritual person, D’Ann believed in God and found comfort and strength in her faith. She read the Bible and prayed often, especially for the strength to carry on through life’s challenges. The family finds peace in knowing she is resting with God in heaven, reunited with her father and the animals she loved so dearly. She is survived by her husband, Tino; her son, Tyler and his wife Callie; her son, Hunter; her son, Justin; her mother, Judy; and her brother, David, his wife, Amy, and their children, Maylin, Seth, and Will. D’Ann’s life was filled with love, family, and a heart that always made room for others. Her absence leaves a space in the lives of those that loved her but her spirit will remain in the stories she made so meaningful. She will be profoundly missed.
