In Memoriam: Kenneth Clifford McGeorge (AKA "Yank”) With great love, we announce the passing of Kenneth Clifford McGeorge AKA “Yank”, who left us on November 14th, 2024, at the young(ish) age of 61. Born on September 26th, 1963 in Islip, NY, he came into this world of his own characteristic style—usually a little too loud and always with a big smile. Kenny was a lover of ice cream, Nascar, and bad jokes, and could always be counted on for a smile, a laugh, and an embarrassing story. He spent his life perfecting the art of making people laugh, whether it was with a witty one-liner, a bad pun, or a story so outrageous that we all had to pretend to believe it. Over the years, Kenny was involved in many different areas, starting out young with nearly his whole family working at Islip Speedway, which is where his love of Nascar began. After some time, he found enjoyment in the Construction industry where he was known to bring attention to entire families all working out on the jobsites together. He would always say “You’ll always have that on jobs this big.” But what he was really good at was making people feel welcome, loved, and ready to laugh at anything—even if it was just his own “mowed” haircut. When he wasn’t navigating his forklift, Kenny could often be found enjoying his nightly ice cream, watching the race, or enjoying a cold one with those closest to him. It wasn’t always pretty, but it was always memorable. Kenny is survived by his wife, Connie McGeorge, his daughter Kaitlin Pollard, son Tyler McGeorge, grandchildren Jalin and Hunter Cochran who will forever treasure the laughs, love, and endless stories of the adventures with Dad/Papa, as well as many loved aunts, nieces/nephews, and countless friends. Kenny is preceded in death by his father Walter Robert McGeorge Jr., mother Georgiana Alma McGeorge(Clifford), sister Dawn McGeorge, and niece Melissa Sawyer. Kenny also leaves behind his pets, beloved pepper plants, and all the races he has always loved. A celebration of life will take place at 2:00 pm on November 23rd at Peppers RV Park, Elgin, TX. Wear your funniest socks, bring your best stories, and get ready to laugh—because that’s exactly how Kenny would’ve wanted it. In lieu of flowers, please send something that Kenny would’ve loved—like a pizza, some ice cream, or some hibachi. Or, better yet, make someone’s day by doing something iconic just for the fun of it. That’s how Kenny would’ve lived it up. Rest in peace, Kenny. You’ll always be the life of the party—and now, the party’s in heaven.
