Lawrence Thomas Smola

Larry T. Smola, 60, passed away into the arms of Jesus on April 6, 2020. Born in Aurora Illinois, Larry was the son of Donald Smola and Joatie Smola. Larry was one of eight children, six of which were twin births. He was knitted together in his mother’s womb, taking up residence with his twin sister. He and his family moved to Texas in 1976 and began planting roots in Cedar Park. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Donald Smola and sister, Donna Dyer. Larry is survived by his wife, Charlene, and their daughter, Leslie and her husband, Robert Smith of Hutto Texas. He is also survived by his mother, Joatie Smola, five brothers, Louis Smola of Lago Vista, Michael Smola and wife Teresa of Austin, Donald J. Smola, Mark Smola, Matthew Smola and wife Suha, and his twin sister, Laura Donovan and husband Bill all of Cedar Park, and Clay Dyer of Arkansas, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Larry leaves behind many friends, as his magnetic personality never met a stranger. He had a heart of love and compassion for others, his smile was warm and contagious, his sense of humor brought joy and laughter especially when it was most needed. He was the owner of LTS Distribution, Inc., and self-employed for the past 17 years filling store shelves with everyone’s favorite snacks, goldfish and cookies made by Pepperidge Farm. He was a type A workaholic, but when he wasn’t working, you could find him fishing and/or spending time with family and friends. Being in love with you, my beloved Larry, meant being amazed by your kindness, spirit, and strength. Being in love with you, meant being proud of your beliefs, words, and actions. Being in love with you meant being free to trust, share, and confide. But most of all, being in love with you my beloved, meant just being together, in love forever. Due to COVID, we are currently unable to have a service. Sometime in the near future, we will have a celebration of life at Hill Country Bible Church - Pflugerville.
