LLOYD JASON ROSKEY Lloyd Jason Roskey (“Jason”), 54, of Temple, Texas went to be with his Savior on August 7, 2026. He passed away peacefully at his mom’s home after battling cancer for a year and was surrounded by family when he died. Jason was born in Temple on May 22, 1972, and was a life-long resident of Temple. He was a Christian and was baptized in 1983 at Lakeview Baptist Church by pastor Gary Dyer. Jason worked in construction most of his life and loved to tinker with cars and anything mechanical. He loved life and especially loved his dogs – Annie, Martin, Mandy, Bam Bam, Baby, and Pup Pup. His best friend was his sister, Rebekah, in whom he confided and who stayed by his side during his battle with cancer. Jason loved the outdoors, enjoyed Texas road trips and, and cherished his freedom and independence. He visited Big Bend National Park and Sonora Caverns. He enjoyed getting together with family at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Jason had a big and tender heart and helped people when he had the chance. He had an infectious sense of humor and could make almost anyone laugh. His sister Rebekah has the following personal note: “When cancer entered his life a year ago, it changed everything – except who he was at his core. Throughout every appointment, every hard day, and every grueling milestone of this past year, I had the profound honor of standing right beside my brother. Walking this journey with him meant witnessing a courage that words can barely describe. He faced the unimaginable with a big heart, and even bigger strength. Being his sister, his advocate, and his companion throughout the darkest year of his life was the hardest thing I have ever done, but it was also the greatest privilege of my life.” Jason was predeceased by his wife Brenda. He is survived by his mother, Janice Burleson and her husband Bruce of Belton; his father Lloyd Roskey and his wife Shirley of Temple; his sister Rebekah Schlegel and her husband Jeremy of Temple; his niece Taylor Schlegel and her fiancé Nick Charo of Troy; his nephew Collin Schlegel of Temple; his stepsister Sharon Dyer and her husband Thomas Goode and daughter Jazmin Dyer of Georgetown; his aunts Joan, Patti, Susan and Kim; his uncle Marvin and aunt Marilyn; and his aunt DiAnn and uncle Harvey; and other family and friends. A private family service will be held for Jason in the near future. The family thanks everyone with Compassus who assisted during this difficult time, and all the friends who supported them with their words and prayers.
